Product : Carbonaceous Additive for Green Sand Moulding - Lustron

Application : ATE represent carbonaceous additive Lustron of MPM India Pvt Ltd. Lustron is a range of tailor made lustrous carbon producers for use in green sand moulding in ferrous foundries as carbonaceous additive for imparting better surface finish on castings.

Lustron is engineered to be equally suited for application in following green sand moulding systems :

• Using ordinary mullers and intensive mixers

• For hand molding and for high-pressure molding

• For manual/mechanical handling and for pneumatic conveying

Features : Following are special features of lustron

1.GFN suited to specific foundry sand parameters

2.Formulated for pneumatic conveying over long distances.This free flowing characteristic in our formulation also assist in better mold compaction.

3.Higher fixed carbon volatiles mean lower burnouts at different levels of the sand mold. This requires lower usage of the LCA under similar condition in comparison to LCA having higher V.M.

Following are the 2 grades of Lustron available

·         HPL grade : Suitable for high pressure moulding sytems with following features

1. High Fixed Carbon(from 48% upto 54%) for “reducing atmosphere” concept.(Volatilising at 650 deg C and above)

2. Volatiles(as low as 41% upto 47%) for lower temeprature gas evolution for ‘Gas Cushion’(480 – 700 deg C)

3. Sufficient Lustrous Carbon Content for non-wetting barrier at sand mold interface

·         F Grade : Suitable for conventional moulding lines with following features

   1.      Fixed Carbon(from 40% upto 35%) for “reducing atmosphere” concept(Volatising at 650 deg C and above)

   2.      Volatiles(from 55% upto 60%) for lower temeprature gas evolution for ‘Gas Cushion’(480 deg C – 700 deg C)
